DIY GOLD and PINK Christening

We had our daughter baptized about 2 months ago and I would like to share with you guys about a simple do-it-yourself christening preparation I made for our little one.

We only had a month of preparation for baby Lychee’s Christening, this includes checking online for the venue, catering services, cake supplier, decors and souvenirs. Whew!
It’s not naman walang plano to baptized – it’s just that were not nagmamadali to baptized Lychee. Pero the moment we realized it – Hala! Anong petsa na! J

CONCEPT:   AN INTIMATE PINK AND GOLD THEMED CHRISTENING

I wanted to have an intimate and simple event. Actually the idea is for everyone to just enjoy the celebration. That’s why we decided to held in in a pavilion/hotel and hire a caterer. It’s for all our family and close friends.

Hubby and I were very hands-on with this event. We made sure that every detail was made with TLC.
I chose a pink and gold motiff – not too girly.

CHURCH: IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH in Santa Cruz, Laguna

The first thing that I do is to make a reservation at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, Laguna for the date of the Christening.

I learned that they only held Baptism on Saturdays and Sundays only.

          Baptism Fee               P300.00
        Sponsors           P20 / each

INVITATION: Layout by Me - Approved and Printed by Daddy

For the invitation, I think I made 6 layouts – and daddy approved just one (still with revisions!).

                  Invitation/ Special Paper   P75 (10pcs A4)
Invitation/Envelope           P55 (bought at Pandayan Bookstore)

RECEPTION VENUE: ASIABLOOMS PAVILION in Santa Cruz, Laguna
CATERER:    ASIABLOOMS

The place is good for 150-230persons. The place is very spacious because we only had 100guests; parking is also good and it’s just along the national road.

The package we had is good for 100guests.

Fish:            Sweet & Sour
Noodle:       Canton
Vegetables: Lumpiang Sariwa
Gelatin with Fruits
Iced Tea

STAGE SET-UP and BALLOON DECORATIONS – GLACY’s BALLOONS

My friend Glacy, set-up an awesome stage for the event. nice, noh? She also decorated balloons centerpieces on each tables. I am so satisfied with her creations. So proud of you Glaze!

PHOTOGRAPHY: ARTYSTAFOTO KIDS (Geriel Ramos)

We hire a professional photographer for Lychee’s Christening. Since everyone in the family will be participating in the christening rites, it is very convenient to have someone who will take pictures. And besides it’s best for everyone to just smile on the camera J It’s really sulit to have hire a photographer.

Artystafoto kids also provides us with free pre-christening photoshoot at Residencia Del Riyo in Pagsanjan Laguna J Thanks Geriel!

SOUVENIRS: PERSONALIZED MINI JARS WITH COLORED JUMBO BUBBLE GUMS

This is a last minute decision. We intend to not have souvenirs because were time constraint already. Pero a day before the event, I feel so itchy to make souvenirs! Parang the event and all the preparation would not be fully complete without having souvenirs. So here it is!

I bought 50 mini jars at SM Calamba (P19.75 each), colored jumbo bubble gums cost  P120 per pack (120pcs per pack). I bought legal size sticker paper, make layouts and print! Tadaaa! Hubby’s nieces helped me with this project.

DIY CHRISTENING CANDLES

I bought 1 pack of candles (20pcs) at SM-Calamba for P64.  I just wrapped the 1/3 of the candle with pink paper string which I bought at Pandayan Bookstore for only P24.

CHRISTENING DRESS:

I really want a long white baptismal dress for my baby – the luck was just on my side when I bought this dress for only P650 (50% off!)at SM-Calamba.
I bought a pair of white socks with tiny pink ribbon for P120 at SM-Calamba.

This cute reception dress was given by Ninang Rina J (picture: iya with tita gigi)

CAKE (GOLDILOCKS BAKESHOP)

The first plan is to have a christening fondant cake by The Little Cake Shop at Pila Laguna it so happened that fondant cake pala takes 2-4 weeks to make.
So we go to the ever reliable Goldilocks, bought this for P1,580.

This cake includes 30pcs chocolate lollipops! Sulit J

Overall naman, I believe that the party was a success! Almost all our invited guests attended the event.
Also, I am grateful to all our relatives and friends for joining this celebration.

  1. Aw, this was a very nice post. Finding the time
and actual effort to produce a great article…
but what can I say… I put things off a whole lot and don’t seem to get nearly anything
    done.
